Okay, well maybe 'King of the 1000M' is better, but either way Denny was kind enough to talk to me Tuesday Afternoon on Moose FM.

On Friday Denny set a Canadian Record in the 1000M, won his first World Cup Gold Medal, added a bronze in the 1500M and did it all in front of his friends and family in Calgary.

Ok, so I thought perhaps I could shirk my afternoon blogging responsibilities, since I have been blogging regularly for the Huskies Blog (it IS hockey season) . But the cordial management here at The Moose encouraged me to continue and not risk being 'promoted' to a sister station in Siberia, Russia: ICE FM ('Keep it Stuck on ICE FM' is their slogan).

So we're back!

Serena Williams recently won the Aussie Open. Putting every man's thoughts on Serena into words was comedian/actor/singer/car mechanic Jaime Foxx!

Well, for some reason I thought adorning a dress for a few hours would be easy. This was not the case. 'The Spring Fling' won the poll we had on the blog ammasing 65% of all the votes. As you can see, the dress left a lot of leg uncovered... Hardest part is remembering to cross my legs when I sit.

As you may or may not know I consider myself a massive Calgary Flames Fan. Scott Morris (Mr. Middays @ MooseFM) is a huge Toronto Leafs fan (hey, at least my team has won a cup since Woodstock). A glance at the schedule last week showed a battle between my beloved Flames and the inept Leafs on Hockey Night in Canada in Toronto. Not only were the Leafs and Flames playing in front of a national TV audience in T.O., it is the only time these two teams play this year and they don't see each other next year. I figured this was time to make a friendly wager with Scott. Simple bet: the fan of the losing team wears a dress on Friday. So who won the game? Toronto in Overtime. Damn.

I spent Saturday in Grande Prairie at the Oilers training camp and had the chance to chase down some good interviews!

here is Oilers Assistant Coach Bill Moores discussing the Oilers' new faces, the possibility of a new enforcer for the team, and how the team's Defense is lining up for this season.

A lot of the off-season discussion surrounding the Oilers has been centred on the departure of Chris Pronger. I spoke with the two players that Edmonton acquired in that Summer blockbuster trade: Ladislav Smid (left) and Joffrey Lupul (right)

Raffi Torres played a big role in the Oilers' run to the Stanley Cup Finals, here are his thoughts on getting back to the Cup finals and how some of the new faces are fitting in with the team.

Well, after weeks of deliberation, brainstorming and procrastination the Moose Fm Afternoons Blog is born.
"It's Aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive" (insert maniacal laughter and snorting)!

I'll be posting lots of odds and ends including (but not limited to) my sports musings, pee your pantaloons funny videos, crazy websites and of course the "San Diego Superchargers" song.
